Dustin Diamond allegedly threatened another person before stabbing
Thirty-eight-year-old actor Dustin Diamond, best known for his portrayal of the character Samuel “Screech” Powers in the television show Saved by the Bell, was charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct, and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at the Grand Avenue Salloon in Port Washington, New York on Christmas, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported on March 19.
According to Diamond, he unintentionally stabbed someone after he came to his fiancee’s rescue, who was allegedly embroiled in an argument with other bar patrons for refusing to take a photograph with them. New reports arose that on the same night but prior to the crime, Diamond threatened to stab another bar patron at Patio Bar & Grill.
Diamond’s trial for the charges is set to commence on Wednesday, May 27.
