Trial begins for Fond du Lac child abuse case
21-year-old Fond du Lac resident Sebastian Doern has appeared before Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Judge Peter Grimm for a preliminary hearing on his child abuse case on October 10.
Doern is facing charges of physical abuse of a child and recklessly causing great bodily harm to his 8-month-old son.
According to Fond du Lac Police Department Detective Pat Primising, Doern confessed to grabbing his son by both ankles and throwing him towards the ground on September 7.
The child suffered two skull fractures and bleeding inside the brain, medical professionals at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee said.
Primising added that Doern changed his story three times during the investigation.
