Man pleas no contest to stealing guitar from casket

This Monday at the Brown County Circuit Court, a man charged with the theft of a dead man’s guitar plead no contest to the charges made against him.

Police accused the 40-year old Wisconsin man of stealing a cream Fender Telecaster electric guitar in September. The man was working at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum outside of Green Bay when a deceased guitar player was buried at the cemetery. Family members of the guitar player said he asked to have his guitar laid beside him in his casket.

The guitar went missing and was found at the 40-year old’s home a day after he allegedly told a groundskeeper at Allouez, “I have to have that guitar.”
