Woman who murdered pregnant woman issues insanity plea
This Monday, the 33-year old woman suspected of murdering a pregnant woman to steal a full-term fetus from her womb issued an insanity plea. The suspect has been charged with 2 counts of homicide for each the mother and the unborn child.
Representatives for the suspect have asked the judge involved in the case to throw out previous confessions of guilt due to the insanity plea. The defense will seek the opinion of a medical professional on the suspect’s metal stability.
According to the defense, the suspect was not properly mirandized — or informed of her rights — and for this reason, any previously made incriminating comments to investigators must be voided.
