Milwaukee Students Arrested for Theft at East High School
Two East High School students were arrested Wednesday after police responded to a theft report.
According to a report released by the Wauwatosa Police Department, two Milwaukee girls, a 17 year-old and a 16 year-old, were arrested after police learned of evidence implicating them in a theft from the school’s girls’ gym locker room. Police say a girl returned to her locker after a swim Wednesday and noticed her soccer shoes and iPod missing. After the girl reported the theft, school officials called police and officers held the entire class of students outside the locker room while it was searched.
Students told police they had seen two girls enter the locker room during the gym period. A school official went to the classroom where the 17 year-old should have been studying and found her absent without permission. The student’s backpack was left in the room, and when it was searched, an iPod was found.
The 17 year-old showed up at the school office to inquire about the backpack and was questioned by officers. She eventually admitted to stealing the iPod and shoes with the other student.
Officers searched the 16 year-old student’s car and found the soccer shoes. The girls were arrested for theft and later released to their mothers.
