Milwaukee Woman Arrested For Taking Gun to Church
A woman from Milwaukee was arrested after she brought a loaded gun to church, police say.
According to officials with the Milwaukee Police Department, a 41 year-old woman entered the Unitarian Universalist Church West in Brookfield shortly after 9:00 a.m. Sunday carrying a loaded Glock 9mm pistol. The woman placed the gun on her hip and reportedly kept it there for the entire service. Parishioners claim the woman said she was trying to “make a point” by bringing the gun into the building.
The woman left the church and placed the gun “in a zippered case and put it on the front seat of her vehicle” according to the police report. She started to drive away from the church on North Avenue, but parishioners called police. Officers with the Brookfield Police Department stopped the woman and arrested her for transporting a loaded weapon.
