Teen Arrested for Auto Theft in Milwaukee

A Milwaukee teenager was arrested for auto theft and eluding arrest Tuesday. According to officials with the Wauwatosa Police Department, the owner of a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee reported the vehicle stolen from his driveway between 9:00 p.m. April 26 and 5:40 a.m. April 27. The vehicle was spotted by police shortly before midnight April 27. When an officer approached the car, the vehicle sped away, leading police on a 1.9 mile chase that lasted just under three minutes and reached speeds of 60 mph. The chase ended at 54th Street when the two occupants abandoned the car and took off running. Officers caught up with one of the boys who had a pocket knife and a small-caliber bullet on him.
