Mistrial in Milwaukee Sheriff's Deputy DUI Case

by Administrator 15. April 2011 05:01
A mistrial has been declared in the trial of a sheriff’s deputy charged with drunk driving. According to court documents, a Milwaukee County jury was deadlocked on the case of Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Conell. A new pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for April 21. According to police records, Conell was found behind the wheel of a van parked in West Allis earlier this year. A West Allis Police officer found him, but did not arrest him for driving while intoxicated. The West Allis Police chief acknowledged that was a mistake, and the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office filed charges. Conell is charged with driving while intoxicated –second offense.
