A Milwaukee man was arrested on shoplifting charges Sunday. According to officials with the Oak Creek Police Department, a 52 year-old Milwaukee man was arrested about five blocks away from Menards on South 27th Street shortly after 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Police say the man struggled and broke free from store security. He proceeded to run down 27th Street. An Oak Creek police officer was flagged down by people who saw the man run into Walmart on the Franklin side of 27th Street. The Franklin Police Department then dispatched officers. While in Walmart, the man allegedly stole a T-shirt. Officers later spotted the suspect near the intersection of 26th and Sycamore. Oak Creek police finally caught him near Tri City True Value, wearing a T-shirt with the tags still on it. The man was arrested for retail theft and disorderly conduct.
