Man sentenced to life for murdering former wife

A 72-year-old physician was sentenced Friday to life in prison for killing his former wife in a downtown parking structure, authorities said. Court documents say he was convicted Wednesday of first-degree intentional homicide. He has no chance of early release.

The man claimed to have been crazy at the time, saying he was a good, conscientious, upstanding citizen who loved his family, but the jury quickly rejected his insanity plea. Sources say the man was just very angry about his divorce a few years prior. During the trial, he talked to himself and compared his life to a Greek tragedy.
