A Chicago man was charged with felony DUI alcohol/drugs Tuesday. According to the arrest report, police observed 34 year-old Kenneth Perera, of Northwest Highway, Chicago, driving 60 mph in a 35 mph zone of Milwaukee Avenue. Officers say Perera suddenly swerved across the center lane and made an illegal left turn. Officers approached Perera's vehicle and found him confused and smelling of alcohol. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests, according to the report. Perera told officers he did not have a driver's license, and a computer check found his license had been suspended. Perera was charged with driving while license suspended, DUI, speeding, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, disobeying a traffic control device, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
