A Milwaukee man has been arrested on allegations of stabbing and robbing a Bayside man on a bike trail last week. According to Milwaukee Police Department spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz, police arrested a 50 year-old homeless man after receiving a tip from someone who saw the man’s description on television. The man has not been charged. According to the police report, the victim of the attack was riding his bicycle on a bike path near the 2100 block of North Oakland Avenue shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday when the suspect approached him and asked if he could use his cell phone. The 18 year-old victim gave the phone to the man, who began to flee. The victim then grabbed the suspect and the two struggled before the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen, police said. The victim was transported to Froedtert Hospital, where he is being held for observation. Authorities said his injuries are not life-threatening.
