Milwaukee Sex Offender Facing Felony Charges for Parole Violation

by Administrator 27. July 2011 07:00
A Milwaukee sex offender was arrested for violating probation Monday.

According to officials with the Wauwatosa Police Department, 26 year-old two-time sex offender Tristan Harris was arrested Monday at his home in the 2200 block of 73rd Street. Harris was arrested for being in violation of his parole after he removed his monitoring ankle bracelet. Police were alerted by a tampering alarm that Harris had removed his GPS-enabled bracelet at 11:32 a.m.

A monitoring specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Correction said removing the device takes substantial force and likely tools.

Police say Harris told them he didn’t like wearing the bracelet and had been pulling on the device for a year to remove it. The GPS specialist asked that police arrest Harris. In 2009, Harris was sentenced to wear a GPS-enabled monitoring bracelet for his lifetime so that law enforcement officers can track his location.

Harris is now being held in Milwaukee County Jail. He is not eligible for bail. He faces a possible felony charge of tampering with a Global Positioning System device.

by Administrator 21. July 2011 07:00
A man is in critical condition after he “violently resisted arrest” and a Milwaukee police officer shot him Saturday afternoon. According to officials with the Milwaukee Police Department, an officer on patrol saw the suspect coming over the top of a fence at United Milwaukee Scrap with a large suitcase in his hand, shortly after 1:40 p.m. The officer followed the suspect and attempted to question him. As the officer escorted to suspect o his squad car, the suspect began to resist, tearing the officer’s badge and radio microphone from his shirt and wrestling him to the ground. The suspect ran between two houses and the officer ran after him, again attempting to arrest him. “During a violent struggle, the officer believed he was about to be rendered unconscious, and fearing for his life, drew his service weapon and discharged it, striking the suspect,” police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said in a news release. The suspect is in critical condition at a Milwaukee hospital. He is 42 years-old and had an extensive criminal arrest history on accusations of drug offenses, battery, theft, domestic violence, resisting arrest, escape, criminal damage to property, and burglary. 2 Milwaukee Police Officers Accused of Helping Drug Suspect

by Administrator 27. July 2010 08:49
Two Milwaukee police officers are facing federal charges after being accused of helping a drug dealer who turned informant.

According to officials with the Milwaukee District Attorney's Office, prosecutors started investigating the officers after a drug suspect turned on them and agreed to wear a wire. Prosecutors said a north side nightclub called Onyx was the link between the informant and the two officers, Sgt. Rocye Lockett and Officer Paul Hill.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said Lockett and Hill had good reputations in the force. "The sad thing for me is," Flynn said, "both of these officers are generally well thought of and so it's doubly disappointing that these aren't necessarily individuals that people were inherently suspicious of."

Flynn said the department will continue to cooperate with the federal investigators, who question why police officers are allowed to patronize a nightclub with links to narcotics trafficking.

"I can't ban people from legally licensed premises, and the fact of the matter is, Onyx is licensed," Flynn said.

by Administrator 10. June 2010 03:57

Four men have been arrested on charges of armed robbery in Franklin, Wis.

The four men, ages being between 23 to 32 years old, allegedly held up a couple at the Plaza Motel with a shotgun. The incident was reported around 1 a.m. while in progress by the motel staff. After this robbery, the four suspects fled the scene in a minivan when police approached. Police found the minivan thanks in part to the motel owner's description of the get-away vehicle, which, after a chase, led to the arrest of three of the four men. A manhunt ensued after the last man escaped custody. Over night, the police received calls from residents that someone was attempting to break into their houses. These calls stopped when police cornered the individual in a local house and arrested him.

Three of the men are from Milwaukee, while a fourth claims Illinois residence.

Drug Dealers Get Stern Talking To

by Administrator 22. April 2009 06:02

Ten students from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and surrounding area had a near public shaming and scolding on Tuesday night.  In this shaming,  members of law enforcement and neighbors of the students dealing drugs told the dealers about the wrongs of their activities.

The residents took it upon themselves to tell the men that they were the lowest form of life on the planet, and that in other countries individuals can be executed for the same crimes.   Those trying to impact the drug dealers also stated that you cant have a free society if individuals are out doing drugs. The neighbors were asked to participate because of an increase in robberies in the area were attributed to the drug dealers.

This event was an option the dealers had in hopes of getting a reduced sentenced.
