Nationwide Drug Bust Leads to 10 Arrests in Milwaukee

by Administrator 22. June 2010 08:40

A nationwide drug bust has lead to ten members of an alleged marijuana ring being arrested in Milwaukee.

The arrests are part of a national federal marijuana crackdown that authorities are calling "Project Deliverance." Milwaukee law enforcement officials arrested ten people and seized five vehicles, more than fifteen pounds of marijuana, $5,000 in cash, and six firearms - including two assault rifles and a submachine gun.

According to police reports, the ten suspects are accused of distributing over 1,000 kilograms of marijuana between November 2008 and June 9, 2010. The marijuana allegedly came from a source in Mexico. Attorney General Eric Holder praised law enforcement officials in the U.S. as well as Mexico.

"The efforts that are made south in Mexico help us here in the United States." Holder said. "We think that what we have done today in regard to dismantling the transportation capabilities of the cartels in the United States will help Mexico as well."

If convicted, the ten people arrested face a minimum of 10 years in prison, and a fine of up to $4,000,000.

Milwaukee biker gang president arrested

by Administrator 16. June 2010 08:13

A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection to a national biker gang in Milwaukee.

Accoring to Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents, the man was the president of the American Outlaws Association. He was charged on two counts of conspiracy. His gang allegedly was responsible for violence against rival gangs in order to expand their sphere of influence. Gangs such as the Hell's Angels suffered physical abuse because of the Outlaws. Oddly, many residents claimed that crime was less of a problem for their neighborhood community due to the gang's violent presence.

Agents raided the gang headquarter in Milwaukee this Tuesday in the early hours of the morning.

The leader and 26 other gang members were arrested across the country in a concerted law enforcement effort. One gang member in Maine was shot to death when a shoot-out broke out between gang members and police.

Robbery, chase, manhunt all ends in four arrests

by Administrator 10. June 2010 03:57

Four men have been arrested on charges of armed robbery in Franklin, Wis.

The four men, ages being between 23 to 32 years old, allegedly held up a couple at the Plaza Motel with a shotgun. The incident was reported around 1 a.m. while in progress by the motel staff. After this robbery, the four suspects fled the scene in a minivan when police approached. Police found the minivan thanks in part to the motel owner's description of the get-away vehicle, which, after a chase, led to the arrest of three of the four men. A manhunt ensued after the last man escaped custody. Over night, the police received calls from residents that someone was attempting to break into their houses. These calls stopped when police cornered the individual in a local house and arrested him.

Three of the men are from Milwaukee, while a fourth claims Illinois residence.

Police make big summer arrests

by Administrator 3. June 2010 02:45

Milwaukee police increased patrols around the lakefront, County Parks, and county highways, resulting in increased citations and arrests.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department announced 35 arrests and 682 citations in the weekend effort to make the Memorial Day weekend safer. 13 people were arrested in parks, while 22 were arrested on the freeways for drunk driving. The string of arrests and increased police presence marks the fifth year of more frequent patrols.

The police have noted that they will specifically assign officers to the lakefront area who will work in those patrols over the remainder of the summer. Increased police patrols are expected to extend beyond just the lakefront region, however. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department has begun divide patrol efforts in parks into larger zones, allowing for more police attention to recreational areas.

Many were glad to see the increased presence of the authorities, adding that the additional feeling of safety helped them relax while out at the lake beaches and parks.
