WI Woman Arrested While Eating Marijuana
An 18 year-old is facing charges after she tried to eat marijuana as an officer pulled over the car she was riding in. Jamie L. Salonen was charged Friday with misdemeanor marijuana possession as well as felony bail jumping because having the drug violates her cash bond on a pending felony marijuana charge. If convicted on both counts, she could be sentenced to up to three years and six months in prison.
Salonen was pulled over, Friday, in Sheboygan by a Wisconsin state trooper. The trooper stopped the car after seeing Salonen was not wearing her seatbelt. According to the trooper, he became more suspicious after seeing Salonen moving around inside the vehicle.
As the trooper approached the car he observed Salonen holding a small bag commonly used to store drugs. At this point the trooper sawthat Salonen’s mouth was filled with marijuana. She was described as very emotional and surprised that she was being arrested for the small amount of marijuana.
“I only ate some weed, officer.” Salonen said, according to the complaint.
