Father on Trial for Child's Faith Healing Death

by Administrator 29. July 2009 06:22

The father of an 11 year-old girl is on trial for the death of his daughter because he attempted faith-healing instead of seeking medical help for the girl.  The man faces the charge of second-degree reckless homicide for the death of his daughter.

The girl that died had undiagnosed diabetes and her condition deteriorated over the last few days she was alive.  She died as her parents and several others surrounded her bed chanting prayers and asking for God to heal the girl.

Medical help from professionals was sought only after the girl had stopped breathing.  The man's wife has already been convicted of the same charge.

The district attorney for Milwaukee has stated that the police chief will not face criminal charges for engaging in an extra-marital affair.

A complaint was filed earlier in the week by an individual claiming that the police chief should face charges for the affair.  A Wisconsin law makes adultery illegal in the state,  although the law has not been actively enforced for some time.
