58-year-old-man Sentenced for Child Pornography

by Administrator 27. January 2009 02:59

David Pieper, a 58-year-old-man who was most currently residing in Georgia, was arrested and sentenced to 4 years in prison for possessing child pornography.

Sadly, that is not where the story ends.

Apparently, Pieper, also known as "The Big Bad Wolf," to his underage, female victims, was first arrested in the summer of 2005 for traveling from Illinois to Indiana with the intentions of meeting with a 13-year-old-girl.  Pieper had met on the internet, and went to Indiana with the intention of having sex with her.  Upon arrival at the ice-cream shop where Pharieper and the girl had planned to meet, he was greeted by an undercover cop.  Pieper told police he did not plan on having sex with the girl, yet authorities found condoms and lubricant in his motel room.

Court of Appeals Upholds Murder Sentence

by Administrator 15. January 2009 08:01
In 1996, a man was convicted of murdering his wife and decapitating her in order to make identification more difficult. The man recently appealed his 60 year sentence on grounds that the state allowed false testimony and that the sentence was inappropriate and unconstitutional. The man failed to provide any evidence that there was any incidence of perjury in his original trial. The judges also pointed out that the crime was "particularly heinous" and therefore deserving of the punishment. The man handled his own appeal without legal aid. If you or someone you know is facing criminal charges, or appealing, contact the Milwaukee criminal defense lawyers of Kohler & Hart, LLP at 888-565-7597.

DNA Evidence Points to Someone Else

by Administrator 13. January 2009 05:01

A Milwaukee man has been serving a life sentence since he was convicted for the murder of a 16 year old girl in 1995. However, DNA evidence has recently granted him his freedom.

Tests have shown that the DNA of an unknown man was found on the girl as well as two other murder victims around the same time. Because of this, a state appeals court has granted a new trial. A finding of guilt may not be permanent. If you or someone you know is facing criminal charges, contact the Milwaukee criminal lawyers of Kohler & Hart, LLP at 888-565-7597.
