4 Individuals Charged in New Jersey Drug Raid

A drug raid in Rahway, New Jersey this past Friday resulted in the arrest of four individuals when police discovered dozens of bags filled with crack cocaine. Police had been investigating several individuals whom they suspected of drug related activity for over a month before Friday night's raid.  Police entered an apartment shared by two of the individuals arrested where they found packaged crack that would hold a $3,500 street value, along with distribution materials and a firearm. The four individuals arrested for this crime are currently being held in jail after being charged with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public house. Detroit Gang Leader Pleads Guilty

Andre Jones, age 28 and leader of a bank-robbery ring known as the AK-47 Bandits pleaded guilty in a federal court today. He is accused of planning or participating in 11 armed robberies, over the course of which he injured a bank teller and a Detroit police officer. He is facing nine charges of bank robbery, 10 charges of firearm-related offenses, and two charges of conspiracy. The penalty he faces is a mandatory 215 years in jail. He will be formally sentenced on December 17. Three other members of the AK-47 Bandits have also pleaded guilty and are awaiting their sentences. The last defendant, Jawan Martin, age 28, of Detroit, will be starting his trial on Thursday. Two Wanted for Robbery in Antioch, CA

Two 18-year-old men were assaulted and robbed on Monday in Antioch, California. They claim that they were approached by four men in two cars while walking down the street. One of the men had a semi-automatic pistol, and the victims were robbed of money and personal property. No one was seriously injured during the attack. A witness to the crime contacted police and was able to keep an eye on one of the vehicles until law enforcement arrived. Police officers stopped the vehicle and arrested 26 year old Harold Wilson of Oakland, and a 17 year old Pittsburgh resident whose name has not been released.
