Rape
Rape occurs when one individual forces another individual into a sexual act with her or him. Rape crosses sex boundaries, gender boundaries, age boundaries, and even species boundaries. If one being forces another being into a sexual act, then the first being has raped the second being.
Rape is illegal and immoral. It can occur for a variety of reasons. Someone can commit an act of rape because of unbridled and uncontrolled sexual desire. Moreover, rape is as much of a sexual crime as it is a crime of violence because rape involves forcing another being into submission or attempting to force another being into submission.
Additionally, rape can also bring the rapist cruel pleasure. Such a situation can occur when statutory rape occurs (rape of an under aged individual) or rape of a non-human animal, which has occurred on factory farms where workers abuse animals. Regardless of the type and specifics of rape, however, it is a heinous crime. And rightly so, it carries heavy penalties. In the United States, rape carries long prison sentences.
Sometimes people are unjustly accused of rape. The accuser may want attention, money, or revenge, for example. Regardless of whether an individual is justly or unjustly accused of rape, however, that individual will need a defense attorney to fight for her or him in court.
